MEET JAMES
James Anderson was born in Greenville, KY, a small mining community in Muhlenberg County. A first-generation college graduate, he earned his Bachelor of Science from Kentucky Wesleyan College while working night shifts as a mortgage loan processor. In 2014, James moved to California to pursue new opportunities, eventually planting roots in Santa Barbara.
At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, James launched Anderson Bookkeeping (AB) to help overwhelmed business owners access critical PPE funding and transition their financial systems to the cloud. While growing AB into a trusted financial partner for some of Santa Barbara’s most prominent families and entrepreneurs, he earned his MBA in Finance from Antioch University Santa Barbara.
Outside the office, James enjoys gardening, beach days with his partner, and adventures with their German Shepherd, Truman. Deeply committed to community and conservation, he actively supports the Music Academy of the West, the Santa Barbara Animal Shelter, and the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
